End of the School Holidays
It’s the first day of the new term in Queensland schools and the Hervey Bay caravan parks were looking a little on the empty side yesterday as people headed home.
While Queensland kids go back to school today NSW kids are just starting their holidays but, unlike previous years, we may not see those empty spaces filled by interstate visitors. As the price of fuel begins to bite deep into the pockets of every person in Australia we can expect to see it affect tourist numbers here.
However, Hervey Bay may not be as badly affected as some areas because of our proximity to Brisbane. A short drive to a very appealing holiday destination will still be attractive to any family who does want to get away from it all.
And while we can offer them scenes like this:
the tourists are definitely going to keep on coming.
