Hervey Bay Birds

We often forget just what a wonderful place Hervey Bay is to live. The climate is wonderful and we’re surrounded by some of the most colourful and amazing birds. And you don’t have to go any further than your own backyard to see and hear the birds.

That was brought home to me during the past week when I was chatting with one of our clients in the United States. I was telling him about some of the wildlife that we get to see right here in Hervey Bay and he was amazed.

At the time I couldn’t find this photo that I grabbed down on The Esplanade, just across from the Bayaroma Cafe in the middle of the day.

Colourful birds in Hervey Bay

At the time I was chatting to him I couldn’t find this photo in my collection but now I have it so Jim, and anyone else from other parts of the world who happen to wander by, here is a sample of the birds you can see right in the centre of Hervey Bay.

These two were part of a bigger group that were wandering around the gardens just near the Torquay Sailing Club and that’s an area that is always quite busy through the day.

well i like all types of animails, but enough is enough, my nabours have been feed these beautiful birds for many years now, and for 14 years ive not been able to hang my washing out on the line, because of bird droppings on every thing, it started once a day, now 3 times a day, and the noise is out of control, all day and even at night, early morning is the worst, and they dont seem to want too pay for the cost of running a dryer, and were and tear on the washing going in and out of a dryer every day, now were so indated with birds, do they relise they are interfearing with nature by doing this, i feel its very selfish on there part, to take away the natural instent, of these animals, they are becoming reliant on being feed day in and day out, there should be a law against this, its inhumaine to not let nature do its work, to keep our enviroment as it should be natural, but to give these birds names, and treat them like children, and ruteneily come to be feed every day, what happens when these people arnt here to feed them any more, they need to hunt for there own food as nature would have them do so, its very cruel, janna
