Bull Sharks Blamed for Fatal Attack

Up to three bull sharks have been blamed for the fatal attack on a swimmer off Stradbroke Island on Saturday.

That is not good news for Hervey Bay and Maryborough for bull sharks are known to frequent the waters around Hervey Bay and especially down around the Urangan Pier.

Bull sharks are also regularly spotted in the Mary River around Maryborough and further upstream.

    all ways have thought the same thing !!!! all the happy tourists swimming in the water near the pier like chips in a fish shop basket ( basket used for cooking chips at takeaway) , waiting for the day !!!! seen some big sharks caught off the pier and bull sharks r just one of the varieties !! ever see the local councilers down there swimming ?? nope !!!!
