Dick Elmer Comes to Hervey Bay

Prepare yourself folks, Dick Elmer is opening a furniture store right here in Hervey Bay. The store will be located in Beach Road Pialba and it will be open before Easter.

Interestingly Furniture House has opened a furniture store here in Hervey Bay. Its new store is located at 68 Boat Harbour Drive Pialba.

    Have you got any new information about this opening of Dick Elmer’s store in Hervey Bay? Nobody I talk to knows anything about it. I suppose you didn’t say which Easter Dick Elmer was opening on Beach Road.

    Hi Patricia

    I certainly didn’t say which Easter it was going to be but I do believe that the new Elmer’s store in Hervey Bay was to be opened by this Easter and it may have opened as planned.

    I didn’t even know where it was going to be in Beach Road until we drove by it late last week and my wife spotted it.

    If you head down Beach Road from Boat Harbour Drive look on your right hand side as soon as you pass the end of The Good Guys. You will see a relatively new block with a number of businesses in it and Dick is towards the end of that block.

    When we drove by Toni thought she saw lights on in the store but there has been no big announcement so who knows if it’s really open or not?

    There have been several rather small ads in the Chronicle but none have actually announced that the store is open.

    Great, thanks very much for that. I don’t suppose you’ve heard anything about Spotlight? The rumours I’ve heard is that they have decided NOT to locate here now. If so, it’s a real shame as we desperately need a fabric store.

    Unfortunately Patricia I have no information about Spotlight at all but I wonder if a town the size of Hervey Bay (and surrounding areas) could support a store like Spotlight.

    Commercial rents and wages would be high and sales may not cover those expenses.
