Good News for Hervey Bay?
The Intergrated Planning and Other Legislation Bill doesn’t sound all that interesting and but it could be very good news for Hervey Bay.
The Bill requires local councils to give reasons for any decisions that go against the local planning schemes. It seems that the Bill was introduced to address the concerns of many people that elected councillors are ignoring the local planning schemes and going against the recommendations of their own planning staff when they approve various developments.
It adds a level of public scrutiny that every elected member of every council should welcome.
