A Heart Starter I Didn’t Need
It’s easy to be fooled into thinking that living in Hervey Bay is just like living in the suburbs of a big city. There are plenty of houses around you and in many places you can’t actually see the bush so it’s easy to forget that Hervey Bay is still basically a country town with a lot of wild animals living all around it.
That was brought home to me yesterday morning. I had been working away on some text for a client and needed a little break while inspiration returned so I went for a wander around the backyard. As usual I was barefoot because the feel of grass on bare feet is one of the real pleasures in life.
But it’s going to be a while before I go bare foot in my yard again because I nearly trod on a snake.
Fortunately said snake was already dead but it took me a little while to realise that.
