Tropical Cyclone Outlook
At 2.49pm today Queensland Tropical Cyclone Centre advised that the potential for a tropical cyclone developing in the northwest Coral Sea is moderate for tonight but will increase to high for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
It seems that the headlines that appeared in today’s Brisbane papers warning of the imminent threat of a destructive cyclone sweeping down the coast to Hervey Bay and Fraser Island may have been at least a little premature.
Even one weather forecaster on TV last night went beyond what the Weather Bureau were indicating at the time.
