At 11.34am the Bureau of Meteorology announced that low that was located northeast of Mackay has now developed into a Tropical Cyclone. The centre of the cyclone is approximately 780 km north east of Mackay.
Tropical Cyclone Odette is currently rated as a Category 1 cyclone with wind speeds of up to 95 km/h and they are intensifying.
