Comments Policy on the Hervey Bay Gossip
The Hervey Bay Gossip is a different kind of online news ’service’. It allows local residents to comment on stories that appear on the Gossip and that is in accordance with the publishers’ view of what the Net is becoming.
We firmly believe that the Internet is bringing people together and giving them a voice that they have not had in the past. To encourage people to find their voice more and more websites are allowing readers to actually comment about the site and that’s what our aim was when we started the Hervey Bay Gossip.
It’s still our aim today and we encourage readers to have their say.
However unsubstantiated attacks on local businesses will not be tolerated. If you feel that a small business has not lived up to your expectations then take your complaint to the relevant authorities and let them deal with it - don’t seek to damage the reputation of the business by posting your complaints here.
Robust but polite debate is encouraged - personal attacks and attempts to discredit competitors will not be tolerated and will be removed.
This is a unique opportunity for the people of Hervey Bay to have their say. Don’t ruin it for everyone by being an ass.
