How Clean is Your Keyboard?

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

The short answer to that question is - ‘not very clean at all’. In fact a recent study has found that there are more germs on the average computer keyboard and mouse than there are on most toilet seats.

At least one manufacturer has already come up with a solution for the problem of dirty keyboards. They’ve produced and keyboard and mouse that can be cleaned in the dishwasher. You can find them at Seal Shield.

While I doubt that you’ll find any in stock in any computer shop in Hervey Bay if you follow the link you will find one shop here in town that does stock a lot of hard-to-get computer parts and guarantees all their computer repairs.

Seakarts on Hervey Bay

Monday, June 18th, 2007

If you’ve seen an unusual looking small sailing vessel out on Hervey Bay in the last week or so then you’re probably seen one of Aquavue’s Seakarts.

Seakarts on the beach at Hervey Bay

The Seakart by Windkart is a very easy to operate vessel that’s really a cross between a windsurfer and catamaran. The Seakarts can carry two people but are designed to be operated by just one and it seems that even complete beginners can operate these after just a short period of instruction.

You can see more images on Aquavue’s Seakart hire page by following the link

Another Set of Traffic Lights for Hervey Bay

Friday, June 15th, 2007

Last week two new sets of traffic lights on Boat Harbour Drive were announced in the State Budget but those aren’t the only new sets of  traffic lights that are coming to Hervey Bay.

Hervey Bay City Council has announced that it will be calling tenders in mid July for the installation of traffic lights at the intersection of Queens Road and Torquay Road. That’s definitely an intersection that needs lights but will the lights lead to more people using Queens Road to access the Esplanade via an intersection that can be quite difficult to negotiate at times?
