WetSide to Open December 6th
It’s been announced that our long-awited water park here in Hervey Bay is to open on December 6th. While many may find it a little underwhelming we have to remember that this was never going to be a water park in anything like the same league as what you might find on the Gold Coast and it’s unlikely to become much of a tourist attraction.
Right now it still looks like a construction site and it’s hard to get a decent photo of the park without signs associated with the construction getting in the way … but one thing does appear to be missing. Wasn’t there supposed to be some sort of water jet that was going to be in the middle of what used to be the roundabout?

And also right now it looks as though we may not be going to get that roundabout back … I believe that we were told that it was only going to be a temporary closure while construction took place but now you have to wonder if it’s actually going to be permanent.

Having just reread the official Water Park website ,Ican”t wait to go to Wetside and relax in the cafe while watching my granchildren play and frolick in the water sprays-opened on Queens birthday!! I may even make it to the wave pool. Great news that the complex will be self sufficient with no extra cost to ratepayers. And that the roundabout will still be there too.

Great news opening on the 6th Decemeber, closed on the 10th so I’m told for the Wide Bay Water, Christmas Party. Other council workers must feel hard done too.

our family went to the wetside open day for contractors and their families it was way better than i expected we all had a really great day the park is amazing and very well done …can definitely hold its own against others for example the strand in townsville my opinion is that wetside is much better everyone has had doubts because we cant really see anything past the fences but trust me its well worth the wait
