However, the facts are Maryborough's rates were kept artificialy low, there was no way their rates were going to keep up with the towns needs. But it did insure their councillors got re-elected. You also read many times how the FCRC is Hervey Bay centric even though Maryborough has just as many council representaives as the Bay. If they also got the support of Tiaro and Woocoo they'd dud Hervey Bay every time. The fact is the Maryborough people have been duded by their own people and the Bay's ratepayers will have to carry them for many years to come.
