Seeing the Other Side of Fraser Island

Everybody has seen one side of Fraser Island. Even if they’ve never been to Fraser Island they’re almost certain to have seen images taken on Fraser and the side of Fraser Island that everyone sees is the east coast.

Oddly, the side that faces Hervey Bay … the west coast … is the side that very few people see and yet it’s just as picturesque as the east coast. Here’s a video I came across on YouTube that shows some of the scenic beauty that can be found on the west coast of Fraser Island.

its just awsome, moving back to the bay this year, one of the things you miss when your not there and take for granted when you are.

agree, sold one of my sports cars, and will be buying a boat just for this.

I phoned this company up today as I wanted to go over to Moon Point for the day on Saturday. I was told they go over at 8.30am on Saturday and only do a return trip at 4.30pm sunday. It is no wonder Hervey bay is loosing tourists, they should do a return trip every day. I thought it was school holidays??? Just another thing that does not work in Hervey Bay.

    Brian,

The boats/ferries are a private operation. In case you don’t know what that means; it is a business to make money.

A vessel going back and forth empty loses money, I am sure the owners know what they are doing and would love to run every day if it paid.

You could always test your theory and start up in opposition.

If you ask me, I think they are loosing lots of business as they keep changing the times. Can you emagine if the bus companies did the same thing and people never knew when the next bus was. The would stop using the busses. If that is how they want to run their business then that is up to them, sure I could do a better job

    Brian,
Try having something positive to say about Hervey bay ,you never know it might just help bring more people to the area which would give operators reason to improve services.

Brian if you dislike what happens around Hervey Bay as much as it appears from your comments on this article and some of the others, why dont you go and live somewhere else then you may appreciate what you seem so disgruntled about

have a good day and look for some positive things in life, it will change your whole attitude to life
