The Fraser Coast Regional Council’s Disability Action Week Working Group presented the 2012 Disability Achievement Awards at a function at the Brolga Theatre last night.
Over 160 people attended the function to honour some of the most inspiring people you will could ever hope to meet. They may not look all that special but if you lived one day in their shoes you would understand why these people make most of us look like chronic under-achievers.
Winner of the Senior Achievement Award was John Livesey from Hervey Bay who, despite multiple handicaps, has overcome them all to achieve his dream of being a truck driver and along the way he’s also managed to accumulate licenses to operate just about every piece of earthmoving equipment used outside of a mining environment.
Good on you son – the whole family is very proud of you!
