As we all know … or should know … the Queensland floods have cut all the roads to the north, south and west of the Fraser Coast and there’s been a rush on shops and supermarkets.

Bread and milk are now hard to find but if you’re looking for bread then we can tell you that Brumbys in Centro, Hervey Bay is still baking but you may need to call in and pre-order.

We understand that they are planning on flying in more ingredients later in the week if the roads aren’t re-opened by then … but that plan may change now that the water is rising in Brisbane.

The heavy rain we had here in Hervey Bay last week brought the inevitable flooding to areas of Wondunna. If you saw the television footage of the flooding and saw the interviews with residents who had floodwater running through their yards and houses you know that it was hard not to feel their pain.

One Hervey Bay resident has been brave enough to openly ask an obvious question about the flooding that I’m sure many local residents have ask themselves. You can read her thoughts over on Bring Back Strewth!
