What to do When the Power Goes Out in Hervey Bay .by Stuart Livesey Check with your neighbours to see if the power outage is confined to your property or more widespread.Switch off or unplug all appliances. Ensure that your computer is unplugged from the wall socket. Leave one light switched so that you will know when power has been restored. If your property is the only one affected check your circuit breakers and safety switch to ensure that they have not operated. If any of these have caused the loss power you may need to call your electrician for advice. If the loss of power is more wide spread locate your emergency kit that should contain a torch and portable radio and keep them handy. Call 132296 and check Ergon Enegy’s automated system to see what Ergon can tell you about the outage. If you have any information about the loss of power that Ergon may be able to use to rectify the problem you can always choose to speak to an operator. When power is restored turn your appliances back on one at a time. |
